nice schedule software for winXP?

I got a little problem. I try to download stuff at night but apparently there are some connection problems that appear every now and then and they affect my download manager, interrupting all the downloads. However they do start again automatically if I close the downloader and then start it again. Is there any reliable and simple scheduler that can do it for me throughout the night?
The built-in tool that Windows comes with doesn't work for me Constant internal errors
