Got To Write a Detailed description of the role of the media in promoting a artist/group. so tell me if ya'll think this is ok and explains it well, we had to choose examples of people who the media helped sell millions of records and the flipside, so just tell me if the people i choose explain it nicely lol

The role of the media is near essential in the promoting of artist today. very few if any artist will sell a good amount of records without publicity from the media. The forms and ways the media help artist is by them getting songs played through the radio and clubs, interviews in newspapers and on TV shows, also there music videos being played on TV channels such as MTV, The Box, U Channel ect., the internet also plays a big part of how the media helps an artist sell records, wether it be advertisments on sites or online interviews and obviously the artists own website being accesible to all fans and lastly street promotion such ass billboards and posters put up at train station ect. All of these points are essential for an artists to sell records. Artists Such as rapper 50 cent or Eminem own most of there sales figures to the huge intrest the media took in them, with eminem being the first White rapper to make such a buzz in the mainstream and also his controversial lyrics ment the newspapers/magazines would have stories and interviews about him all the time, The same happened when 50 cent came onto the scene with his raw "Gangsta" image and lyrics the media picked up on this and exposed it, Radio and Clubs also played a huge part as both artist Had singles that clubs couldnt not play leading to them becoming two of the biggest selling artist of all time. A example of a artist who may be as skillful and have just as good songs but no intrest from the media would be Uk rapper akala, with very little promotian and not to well known due to this, his sales are never goin to reach the hight or superstars such as 50 cent ect. but even though he has very listtle promotion he still has his Myspace page, website, local play ect. so even when you move from a Major record labels artist to a indepent artist the media is still there best source to get there stuff known and recognised just on very different scales.
