Hip-Hop Heads

Postby MikeNUFC » Nov 22nd, '10, 18:21

Something I wrote pretty quickly a few weeks back, just had to get these thoughts down somewhere

If it's underground it's 'dope', if it's mainstream it's 'wack'
Signed to a big label? You're tame team is crap
Unless you spit on the grimiest beats
And use "minute lower extremity of the vertebrate leg"
.... instead of "tiniest feet"
Then you're not 'real hip-hop' and your CD will suck
Sold 200K? B'lieve me, its luck
If you don't mention illuminati or scientific combustion
I don’t wanna hear your song; rhymes horrific, no question
I don't care if it's deep and inspires the youth
It's got a Dre beat and 'it don’t fire da trooth'
About 9/11 - Bush did it, ya know?
I know it’s a fact cus Immortal T say so
40-multies per verse? Lyrics insane, son
"But I've heard better imagery in a Gucci Mane song
And the concept is dull, storytelling's not there"
It don't matter lol, cus it's bullshit about Tiananmen Square
And some dude on YouTube said 'He's a lyrical god, son'
So I repeated that shit on hiphopmiracle.com
I don’t know what he means but it'll make a tip top thread
Let's hope someone replies "You a real hip-hop head"

Haha I did love it

Very creative, except Gucci has absolutely no imagery whatsoever :shakehead:

Yeah that's the whole point of that line lol - having less imagery than Gucci means you have zero imagery

The llines in speech marks are a fictional person responding to the 'hip hop head' after he says the verse is insane. Basically saying there's more to lyricism than just rhyming

Haha, I've never quite read a song like this before so props on the creativity :b:

I liked the character play too :y: the only thing that kinda bothered me was that the real hip-hop head/feel tip top in a thread rhyme didn't sound natural because the syllables didn't line up.

Overall it was good, I'm just being picky with that last line.

8/10. :b:

Good shit bro. I found it hard to flow some lines though, like it was just talking, no rhythm to it, but that's only a couple of lines, the rest was dope. I checked out your first piece on here too, you choose to keep to the topic and it's meaning rather than burst out with lyricism, I like that. :y:

What's with the "lol" though? lol.

Nah that's not being picky at all. The multie is forced as hell anyway (who describes a thread as tip top?) but yeah it didn't sound natural either. Reading it again, I hate that line.

Meant to rhyme with "dull" lol
