Intro (for my soon to be recorded LP, "Letter Of Apology")

Some info on my album before you read this piece:

So I had written about 13-16 tracks, and knew something was missing. After hearing Cole's "Intro," I got inspired to make one. The name of my album is going to be "Letter of Apology," which is the name of the track I posted in the Audio Stage. It will be on the album. That SONG is basically a letter of apology to my grandpa due to the lack of visits I paid him during his last months. I truly regret that :'(....just didn't want to see him like that.

Anyway, the NAME of the album is going to have a different meaning. It's kind of a name meaning...it's like, okay, my album is out...all of you doubters can now begin writing you letters of apology for doubting me years ago when I released my first track (that shit was going around school...pretty embarrasing) :sweating:, I'm over it now, though. Do you think this is a good idea for an album title?

Anyway, on to the "intro"....I'm imagining something with piano and light drums, similar to Cole's intro. Not exactly though.

It's going to be rapped in a soft kind of voice, but eventually build up.

There’s those who wish me well, they been waitin’ long
Those who’s opinion of me isn’t swell, & they hate is strong
But you doubter’s ain’t even my entire concern
‘Cause all you doin’ is fuelin’ this fuckin’ fire 2 burn
I can sit & pout ‘bout how this treatment ain’t the kind I deserved
And how all this negative shit about me has tired my nerves
Or I can, try & exert..energy, stay inspired 2 learn
I came in this game, move aside, it’s my turn
The higher the curves, the more passion I spill
I’ve arrived now, you try & stop me and ya ass’ll get killed
It’s- time, so get 2 writin’ your Letters of Apology
Motherfuckers, now y’all can’t help but acknowledge me
Yeah, and I know it hurts you, but I’m here 2 stay
I’ve rearranged my posse, steer away, stay clear of fakes
And I’m done sucking it up, done tryna conceal the pain
I’m here to bring a shit storm motherfucker.....feel the rain.

"This dude doing this interview wants me to spin a few,
Lyrics while I tie my tennis shoes in the nude
A romantic interlude in a livin’ room,
In an inner tube with a dude with a bit of lube
Fuck that I’m sniffin’ glue, sippin' gin & juice,
And a little bit of paint thinner with my dinner too,
You better pay me for my bars like your rent is due,
Now hurry up and finish dude before I finish you."

BTW, after this intro, this is the 2nd track on the album. That is the order I'm planning on putting it in. Just wondering, does it fit? Does it make a smooth transition? Here's the audio:

I would appreciate it if you guys could not only feed this little intro piece, but also give some thoughts on all I explained about the album. :D...been planning/working on/writing this album for almost 4 years. It's went through a LOT of changes. Now that I'm almost done writing all the tracks, it's almost time to record.

And I know I'm askin' for a lot...if you don't want to, that's cool. Just want to get the feedback of some brilliant people on this forum :y:

Okay, since you requested a feed of the entire album structure/set-up, I'll do that first.

First of all, I really like that title. A lot. And the the idea that the title track plays off of the title in a completely different way is awesome, and the topic of your grandpa, that hit home for me. I kinda had a very similar situation. But yeah, the idea for the title of the album is really cool, it's just the kind of inspiration you'd want for your first LP. Kinda like a big "fuck you" to all who thought you would fail.

As for the intro, let me start by saying that when I read this, I was reminded a lot of Cole's intro. I know you said that's what inspired you to do this, and that's a good thing, because he's a great artist. The lyrics really drove home your point. It essentially sums up the entire premise of writing this LP. The rhymes are solid, the flow was good, and like I said, the lyrics really did the premise justice. You're off to a good start, I'll have to check the other pieces that have been related to this project too, because I can't remember whether or not I fed it or not.

Anyway man, good start, and best of luck with the LP.

Mind returning the favor? http://forum.trshady.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=126852

I agree with DGAF, when you explained the meaning of it, I felt sad, you know? I never met my grandfathers, I don't know any information at all about them, so when I read that, I felt it. I really like the concept of the album, because I go through the same shit. I wanna become one of the greatests in Hip Hop (I've got a lifetime journey ahead of me) but people hate on my dreams, and whenever I drop a 16, they start calling me dope. Really like what you've got here. :y:

Good shit. For an intro, this is really good, because most intros have 1-2 syllable multis. I am quite excited to hear this being recorded. Are you producing the entire thing?

Thanks guys :y:

Zabe, nope. I usually download beats from shadowville.com or have a couple people I knew make them for me according to how I "describe" the beat.

And I will return the favor soon. :b:
