WorDs- Is this how it ends?

Postby Words » Jun 20th, '12, 05:30

Just another quick piece about the current state of the world and what our future could hold.

LOF: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=146187

I hear it in Egypt and Libya, the sound of cities errupt
Citizens taking to facebook to overthrow the corrupt
While their militaries focus on mouths to be shut
Silence anyone with a critcal opinion and now we're fucked
A whole world suddenly caught under the gun,
even though we're all flesh and blood, under the sun
I'm worried my kids will be able to have no fun
Living in shadows, living in fear, maybe the enemies won
I'm a cynic with no depression limit, sorry if I'm blunt
But really wake up and smell the coffee and roses
pocket full of poseys, I suppose these
things are the death of us all
We might all be dead in the fall
When the a-bomb drop and time comes to a crawl
The children look up and begin to bawl
stopping suddenly in their game of basketball
Awful futures are inevvitable after all
It's human nature....

I loved the flow up until "...enemies won" then it went all awry and had no structure it seemed. The "poseys / (sup)pose these" rhyme was nice, felt good to say in juxtaposition.

Content was good. Relevant and very reflective. Rhyming was good, nothing fancy, but got the job done trying to say what you wanted to say.
