Can't Kill The Messenger

(Verse)
You can take away my pen but you can't take away my mind
you can take away my breath, but you can't take away these rhymes
recorded in order to store it for hoarders read between the lines
what i mean is, you can kill a man, but his words can't be silenced
when i'm gone my songs stay strong with the guidance
inspirational thoughts, history is present to have me writin more
a soldier in a war of life and i ask what the hell am i fightin for?
i got a father and a sister who need me, tell em breath easy
growin up i had a guardian to lead me, but none of it was breezy
fell i na few holes and right now i only tell half
wait for the rest of my story at the end of the path
will i be facin the glory? or did my heart crash?
welcome to my dream world, where i'm always zoned out
music is my drug, and i feel alone now
just writin my thoughts and i won't bow
can't stop the music i don't know how
to me, writin a poem is like takin a breath
and if i don't do this than i'm just waitin for death
i'm wriitin my history, for the future no eracin what's left
and now i sit in the desk, i know i'm facin the test
the principals of livin this life, i'm just embracin whats next
let it teach me as i move, cuz if i sit and watch time go by
i miss the important questions like when, how, why
rather have the truth instead of livin a lie
rather have the proof in front of my eye's
so when it's my time, i know without a doubt
the reason i was here, and what life is all about
