The D-O-double-G calls back to his 1993 hockey jersey look with a new run of threads with respected Upper Playground.

Dating back to the early '90s, Long Beach, California Rap superstar Snoop Dogg has been a fashion icon. From his unique braids and trademark Converse Chuck Taylors, the emcee has long been an ambassador of west coast street culture to the global mainstream. Now, 17 years after his first solo video, "Gin & Juice," Snoop Dogg teams up with clothing company Upper Playground to call back to one of his early trends.

In the 1993 video to the Dr. Dre-produced song from the multi-platinum Doggystyle, then-Snoop Doggy Dogg was portrayed sitting on the handlebars to a bicycle, pedaled by cousin and Dogg Pound co-founder Daz Dillinger. In that sequence, Snoop wore an early 1990s away-team jersey for the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey club. Later in the video, Snoop is seen wearing a Homestead Grays hoodie, another Pittsburgh-based franchise in baseball's Negro Leagues, before the closing drive-in/house party sequence finds him in another hockey jersey, this one belonging to a minor league team, Springfield, Indians.

Fans of both nostalgia and Hip Hop, Upper Playground has released three hockey jersey-inspired t-shirts with Snoop Dogg. The three looks, according to TheBoomBox, are "You Don't Love Me," "I Love New York," and "Chronic Life."

The collaborations are available on Snoop Dogg's website, Upper Playground's website, and wherever Upper Playground is sold.

In related news, Snoop Dogg has said that he's working on a sequel to Doggystyle, where "Gin & Juice" and its video comes from.
