Cannon's joint venture with MTV will permit him to develop, produce, consult and appear on potential MTV branded programming.
The network also announced that the triumphant sketch comedy/improv series "Nick Cannon Presents Wild 'N Out" will be returning for a third season, which began yesterday (August 10). Since the show debuted last year, "Wild N' Out" has accumulated some of the highest ratings in its time slot to date.
"Nick Cannon is one of today's freshest and most innovative young talents," said Tony DiSanto, Executive Vice President, Series Development and Animation for MTV via a statement. "His creative vision and tireless pursuit of excellence on both sides of the camera puts him in a class of his own.."
"I am thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to work with such a respectful and reputable network as MTV," Cannon stated. "They understand and respect my creative vision, not only as an entertainer, but as a business executive. I am very much looking forward to the continuation of our close partnership."
In the new season of "Nick Cannon Presents Wild 'N Out", Nick will continue to feature two teams of hot, up-and-coming comics who go head-to-head in a series of "improv battles." Each week Cannon's team will challenge a celebrity guest and their team to a fast-paced war of words and wit.
Pharrell, Lil Jon, Fat Joe, Method Man, and Big Boi from OutKast are just some of the celebrities that will be featured in the upcoming season.
