New partnership promises 3-D concert films for theaters

For everyone in the audience who ever wanted to get up on stage and dance with Eminem - there may finally be a way.

Oscar-winning director James Cameron and Interscope Geffen A-and-M Records have announced a partnership they say will bring 3-D concert films, music videos, commercials and stage shows to movie theaters sometime within the next six months.

The films will be shot using a digital stereo camera system that Cameron helped develop and tested last year when he filmed an unreleased 3-D version of Gwen Stefani's "Wind it Up" video. The result puts the audience right on stage with the performers, according to representatives of Cameron and Interscope.

Initial plans are to show the films in 600 to one-thousand theaters.
