10/20/08 Rap Music Suffers Loss Of Dolemite

Rudy Ray Moore, better known to the world as Dolemite, died recently of complications due to diabetes. The Comedian/actor/singer was known for many things, including being the "King of Party Records" and being sampled by Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eazy-E, Eric B. and Rakim, Ice-T, Big Daddy Kane, 2 Live Crew, ODB, Busta Rhymes, and dozens of other platinum selling rap artists.

“The man, the myth, the legend, Rudy Ray Moore...without him there would be no rap community,” Snoop Dogg said in an interview with Dolemite. Snoop featured Dolemite on his music and skits for his albums.
