10/20/08 Kanye Explains His New Album

Kanye West's new album "808s & Heartbreaks" seemed to come out of no where. Ever since Kanye debuted his single "Love Lockdown" [listen/watch here] at the MTV Awards, fans seem to be confused about a lot things, including why the entire album will be Kanye singing, with the only rapping from Lil Wayne on a feature. Kanye explained the singing aspect saying “I’m about to express myself in melody,” he said when he visited radio personality Big Boy, continuing “And have it be a fine lie where you don’t know if its rapping or what it is. It’s just necessary at the time. Whatever the beat makes me do.” [watch here]

Kanye went on to defend his creativity by saying “I’m not doing this to only have two people have this in their car,” Kanye told Big Boy [watch here] “I’m doing this to make the most incredible album you’ve ever heard. And if it’s not that, I’ll go in the studio and make another one,” [watch here]. Kanye confirmed that a song called "Coldest Winter" [listen here] that recently hit the internet, is dedicated to his mother Dr. Donde West.
