Kevin Cogill, the 27-year-old man accused of posting leaked songs from the upcoming Guns N' Roses album, pleaded innocent on Monday in federal court.

Cogill was arrested in August after police arrived at his Los Angeles home for the offense. He could face three years in federal prison if convicted, and the maximum five years if the court finds he posted the songs for commercial gain.

At the time of his arrest, the rock band said that they while they did not condone Coghill's actions, their interest was "in the original source" of the leak.

However, Cogill has kept quiet about how he managed to obtain a copy of arguably the most anticipated relase of the year. It is possible he coud face a reduced sentence if he reveals his source.

In the posting before his arrest, Cogill called the album, which has been fifteen years in the making, "worth the wait." He removed the songs after receiving a call from the band's representatives, however, by then it was too late and the songs were already widely circulated.

The new album, 'Chinese Democracy', will be released before the end of November.
