10/22/08 Mos Def and Rihanna Star In New Iceberg Slim Movie

Mos Def along with Rihanna, Macy Gray, Anthony Anderson and others will star in the upcoming film based on the book "Mama Black Wido" by Iceberg Slim. Set in the 30's the story is about an african-american family migration from Mississippi to the ghetto-themed underworld of Chicago. The film will be directed by Darren Grant and also star actresses Kerry Washington and Angela Bassett.

Ice-T will be producing a documentary on the author Iceberg Slim's rise from pimp to novelist. "Iceberg Slim has been one of the most influential people in black culture," Ice-T told New York Post. "Few people know the story behind the man and it's time that story is told."
