1/28/09 Bun B Stays UGK 4 Life

Postby fearless31666 » Jan 28th, '09, 21:00

As we previously reported Bun B is preparing UGK's final studio album. Two years after Pimp C's death, the new album "UGK 4 Life," will not only highlight UGK's 20 plus years of work but the life of Chad Butler, better known to fans as Pimp C. "The new UGK album 4 Life is the final studio album from my late great brother Chad Butler aka Pimp C and myself," Bun said in a statement. "It is my sincere hope that it's a fitting bookend to the legacy of UGK and to the life and times of Pimp C."

UGK got their first national spotlight with their "The Southern Way" EP in 1988. The duo then released five additional albums including "Too Hard to Swallow," "Super Tight," "Ridin' Dirty" (Gold), "Dirty Money," and "Underground Kingz" (Gold). The single "International Player's Anthem (I Choose You)," a collab with Outkast, helped make "Underground Kingz" be #1.

"UGK 4 Life is an album for the people," Bun declared. "For all those people who have been with us from the beginning to those we've gained along the way, family, and friends, the street cats and the squares, the supporters as well as the detractors." "UGK 4 Life" is currently set to hit stores in Spring on Jive Records.
