Taylor’s album full of confessions, apologies, and heartbreak completely smashes expectations and is set to sell one million in first week!
It’s official. There is no stopping the Swift train once it leaves the station. Taylor Swift’s third album Speak Now has sold one million copies in its first week! Congrats, Taylor!
The 20-year-old songbird penned Speak Now over a period of two years, famously writing tracks about ex-boyfriends Taylor Lautner, John Mayer, and Joe Jonas. Seems everyone wanted to hear the words of Miss Swift because according to HITS Daily Double, Taylor’s total percentage of sales for the week will be between 17 and 18 percent. So, pretty much every fifth person you pass on the street has Speak Now in their possession.
The last artist to sell a million copies in one week was Lil’ Wayne with his album Tha Carter III in 2008. Taylor will be the first country artist to sell one million copies in one week since Garth Brooks’ (Double Live) in 1998. Looks like Taylor has some serious celebrating to do. Maybe rumored new beau Jake Gyllenhaal will take her someplace nice.
