Religious People Are Stupid

published on the statistical relationship between religiosity and
educational level, or religiosity and IQ. Michael Shermer, in How
We Believe: The Search for God in an Age of Science, describes a
large survey of randomly chosen Americans that he and his
colleague Frank Sulloway carried out. Among their many interesting
results was the discovery that religiosity is indeed negatively
correlated with education (more highly educated people are less
likely to be religious).

Personally, I think that's bullshit. My whole family and close friends are very religious and are anything but stupid. All are very logical, intelligent highly educated people so I think that statement 'religious people are stupid' is stupid. Yes, there are religious people that are stupid but saying that however many billion religious people are stupid is just ignorant, in my opinion.

The title is so wrong! Guess its true though that Religion has a negative co-relation with education but even more so, success in general. The richer, more famous, more classy you are, the less likely you are to be religious. Which is, sad

This has been known for a while. Don't freak out god-lovers: it's simply saying that the educational and IQ level of religious people is more likely to be low. Not that every religious person is stupid. It's all just numbers. If you're getting upset, chances are that you are both stupid and religious. Way to be a statistic.
