Was it when she gave millions of dollars to historically black colleges?

Was it when she built a school in Africa for poor African girls?

Was it when she brought attention to the baby rapes in Africa or human trafficing?

Was it when she initiated a book club, which helps me pick out interesting books to read?

Was it when she put "The Color Purple" on Broadway, with a mostly black cast, people who'd only get a job in "The Lion King" or some shit like that?

Was it when she earned every cent she had? Was it when she was taken advantage of as a little girl?

Was it the scholarship that she offers to highschool students?

Was it when she reunited 2 African girls with their African family, whom they believed to be dead?

Let's not forget that she was in New Orleans after Hurrican Katrina before the damn President of the US!

WHEN?! WHEN DID OPRAH BECOME A BITCH???! So her audience is old white women.... AND? 50's audience is white teenage boys just like the rest of hip-hop.

I'm sorry. 50 attacking Oprah, who has done MORE for Black people all over the world than he EVER has, is inappropiate and shows how ignorant he is.
She caters to more Black people than he realizes.

just to add onto that, most of yall are not Black anyway. You have no reason to even begin to hate Oprah. You don't understand the dynamics involved in the situation. 50 SHOULD know.

Once you reach a certain level of success, a black person can't go back to the "hood." Those who do, end up getting killed or just hated on. I can't go home and talk about shit I learned in college... there's a triple consciousness that goes along with education and success.


50, who is uneducated, is in the rap business... he doesn't really have to wear a mask at work, but Oprah does. She helps the Black community in many ways, but what the fuck she look like moving in to a low-income black neighborhood? She look like someone about to get robbed.

Black people are the minority in the US. How successful would her show be if she catered to black people? Not successful at all. If more Black people watched her show, we could get out of some of these persistent troubles we stay in.

Awesome post, and very true and accurate. But, people are still entitled to their opinions, and I think her show is corny, unintelligent and shallow. It preys on insecure women, telling them what they should like, the way they should act, how their relationships should be. All those programs are the same, they are so obvious in their actions it`s sickening. Fair play to Oprah though, she`s a good business woman. Why shouldn`t she exploit a gap in the market. Her show revolutionised T.v, but in my opinion, it`s one of the worst T.V program formats there is, I can`t stand them.

Next time you watch it, I bet it`s a show about one of these three. A famous celebrity friend interview and performance, Oprah giving away some of her lavish designer clothes to white yuppies in the audience, or maybe, just maybe there will be an episode worth watching.

I`ve seen some very interesting episodes. For instance one about women in India who get stoned to death for getting pregnant out of wedlock, and some other ones I can`t remember right now. But, the majority are brainless and boring, like normal people feuding in a love triangle. Fuck sake, work your own problems out, who's so sad that they need to watch shit like that?

I agree about Fifty, people in glass houses shouldn`t throw stones. But, he isn`t sayin Oprah is selfish with her money. He's saying that her show is now a white woman show, just look in the audiences, you`ll have to search for black women!
