9th Wonder Parts Ways With Little Brother
Monday - January 29, 2007
Producer 9th Wonder has recently split from his Little Brother brethren, apparently, so the individual members of the trio could move forward in their careers.
Although the split seems sudden and rumors have indicated a beef within, the members say there are no hard feelings. "There are no hard feelings and no beef," group member Pooh told HipHopGame. "This is just a decision that had to be made so all three of us could move forward and continue to provide the world with dope music."
With 9th gone, remaining members Phonte and Pooh are going through it with their label Atlantic Records, who they are ready to part ways with as well.
"First, I want to say that Little Brother has not been dropped from Atlantic," Pooh explained. "At this time, we are in the process of negotiating our release from the label due to a difference in philosophies."
"We asked to be released," the group's manager Big Dho added. "I think we may just put the album out on Asylum to close our deal, but it's definitely a wrap for us at Atlantic. We weren't happy with how things were going and we decided we wanted to leave and on their end, they decided that they didn't want to deal with that either."
According to the group, they are close to finishing their third album, Get Back, but a release date has yet to be announced.
But for Little Brother fans hungry for new music, don't worry. They are gearing up to release a free mixtape, titled And Justus For All, on internet for download. It will available for download on February 13
