9/22/08 Nelly's New Album Projected To Bomb

Things aren't looking good for Nelly and his new album 'Brass Knuckles.' "We did everything we could, but it just didn't happen." a source at Universal told Sohh. "The estimate as of today is around 43k copies sold in the United States."

Why is the album bombing? No real popular single? No hit video on TV? Maybe it's the fact it has 14 tracks and 18 guest appearances. The album only contains one song with only Nelly himself and 13 others filled with features by Rick Ross, T.I., LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Nate Dogg, Usher, Fergie, Chuck D, Akon, Ashanti, Jermaine Dupri, Ciara, Lil Mama, Pharrell, Avery Storm, Gucci Mane, R. Kelly and of course The St. Lunatics.

nelly like every other artist is on a strict budget when it comes to an album, now since nelly doesnt produce he needs to pay for all his beats out that money, he then needs to pay for all the features (and there's alot) out that money, he then needs to pay for the video's (and i think the ones i seen were pretty high quality videos). so after paying for all that youd think he might have a bit left for promotion (witch is non-recoupable so record labels dont like puting to much money in it) but coz the amount of features he most likely had very very little cash left and coz he needed promotion the label would have been very reluctant to pump loads of money into it to bost the album coz they had already put so much in for the features and beats. Also with the state of music today they know he isnt goni to 1 million in the first weak so they KNOW theres only a very very very slim chance theyll make the money he put into features and beats back in the record sales. leaving nelly with shitty promotion campaign (hes always been promoted big over here and i only seen party people twice and never seen ANY other form of advertisment) and not alot of copies pressed for release.

i gotta say i liked his new album alot...but it sounds like a DJ khaled album with all those guest on there.
