Legendary actor Samuel L Jackson has signed on to star in an upcoming remake of the 1985 martial arts film "The Last Dragon." The movie will follow "Leroy," an amateur martial arts student, as he goes throughout New York City to become the greatest fighter alive. Jackson will play the role of "Sho'nuff" known as the "Showgun of Harlem" and his many catch phrases like "Am I the baddest mofo lowdown around this town?" "I'm a huge fan of the original," Jackson said, continuring, "And I look forward to bringing Sho'Nuff into the 21st century."

Kerry Gordy, son to the founder of Motown Records Berry Gordy, will produce the film like he did the 1985 original. "We're thrilled to be working with Kerry Gordy as he continues his father's legacy," Columbia president said, continuing "[He] will capture everything that people love about the original while also bringing a fresh edge to the remake."

Wu-Tang's RZA will help the movie by co-producing the film while Dallas Jackson will be responsible for writing the screenplay. RZA has worked with Samuel L Jackson before, as he composed the score for his animated series "Afro Samurai."
