JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 8 (UPI) -- A Florida man wolfed down 65 hamburgers in eight minutes to break a state record and win the sixth annual Krystal Square Off in Jacksonville.

Hall "Hoover" Hunt, 27, who is ranked seventh in the world for competitive eating, surpassed his own state record by five burgers and won a spot in the national Krystal-eating championship in Chattanooga, Fla., the (Jacksonville) Florida Times-Union reported Tuesday.

Hunt said he didn't feel at all sick at the end of the contest, which took place at The Jacksonville Landing shopping complex.

"I feel terrific because now it's over and I can relax," he said. "I haven't eaten in like 36 hours, so I needed the calories."
