Stem Cells

We're learning about these in my biology class and i was wondering what you all think. Are you for them or against them.

Things to consider:
How they get the cells.
How they use them
What happens to the host of the cells.

I really dont care how they are obtained or anything. Because we kill life everyday. and this isnt anything different. especially since the embryo isnt really a person yet. but thats my opinion.

i always get pissed off when people are like "it's murder!" - well no, not really. those are just a few cells multiplying and they've got a great potetnial cause they can become every kind of cell. this might help people, so all the hater should just take a book and read about it, instead of talking shit.

plus the cells don't need to come from an embryo, they are also in the blood from umbilical cord. the thing is that they can be frozen and used later. it costs a lot and it's possible only a few minutes after the birth, but those stems cells from that blood can be useful later in curing different kinds of leukemia or sickle-cells anemia and other illnesses..

so yeah, i'm for it.

People get all crazy because the cells are obtained from aborted fetuses. Yes, let me repeat that..ABORTED fetuses. Fetuses that are just going to be thrown away. Because obviously it's better to throw fetuses away than to possibly save another human's life.

People are against it, until they or someone they know could be saved by it.
Think of all the diseases that could be cured, the parapalegics that could walk again, the people depending on donors to live..all of them could be helped by stem cell research. I personally have a friend with diabetes, and in forty years she'll most likely be crippled and blind, but if stem cells were available to her, she could live normally. We have the capacity to save lives in this untapped field of research and we'd be stupid not to seize it.

i support stem cell, i think it's the next step to curing all sorts or diseases and problems that humans face.
