and then, that 2nd guy came and started telling some bullshit about him "being from the hood" and how he and the 'door' guy are best mates ever and that he's "from the hood" so practically no one knows what he's been through [suuuure :zipped: ], no one "knows life like he does" and so on. well, it's not like his small city was a Polish Harlem or Compton, so i was laughin inside, but yeah..

..do you really think that being "from the hood" determines your way of life? well obviously it does in some way, but if you want - you can.. i just wanted to know your opinion to state whether it's me being fucked up in the head or him being just drunk..

hahaha ya iv come across the same thing... me and my buddies were gettin pizza after the bar one night and this dude was talkin shit like "you ever been to the pen?" "ill fuck you up cuz iv done time" this and that.. and ya... if anyone knows anything about prison in Canada... its basically like a paid vacation.. so ya definitly laughing inside.. anyway.. the dude rips off his shirt and tries fightin one of my buddys and ended up gettin his ass knocked the fuck out after about 12 seconds in... and its helarious cuz my buddy is like 5'6'' and looks like he's 17 but he's a farm boy so this is one of those cases where looks are definitly deceiving cuz he looks harmless but is far from it... anyway... in the end, people will talk shit like their huge but it doesnt mean a thing in reality.. thers always gonna be someone that can whoop your ass.. no matter who you are or where you were brought up.

alright time for a rant.

i see people saying "oh fuck that, so your from the hood, get a job". you fuckers have NO idea. these kids grow up in ghettos with their parents either never home, split up, or on drugs. these kids don't have the opportunity to get a good job because in the hood there's no good jobs, and even if they had the opportunity, the schooling in the inner-cities is next to shit so they don't know how to present themselves and they don't have proper clothing to look professional. and yes, being from the hood gives you a 'do or die' mentality. it's either you do whatever you have to do, by any means necessary, or you won't have food on the table. people in the hood don't deal drugs because they choose to, they do it because they're parents can't support them, and the most accesible way to money is thru drugs. so before you go with the whole suburban, "get a job, and move out if it's so bad" bullshit look at it from their eyes.

FUCK lol

i grasp what your saying, but for 80% of people in the "hood" the reason they get sucked in to the spiral is there own choice, sit home study ? or go get high ? cant stay in coz your mums a drug adict, go to the library ? or say fuck it and get drunk ?

no ones life is easy, and i dont wanne get into the whole "i had this when i was younger" debate, coz it reeks of stupidity, but drugs/alchohol abuse ? poverty/hand me downs instead of new clothes ? all major aspects of the first 14 years of my life, and i aint sitting selling crack now and kicking the shit out people coz of it.

lifes a bitch, that fact we know, but just coz its a bitch to you doesnt mean you need to be a bitch to everyone and sit in self pity :y:

read 'Makes Me Wanna Holler' by Nate McCall. just think about what he's been through when he was young, because it was the time when the racial issues were bigger than today. just think that he'd done gangbanging, been through drugs and finally through prison. he didn't give up though, he made it to a respected Washington Post journalist.

no one ever said it's easy to live in poverty, in ghettos, hoods or whatever you call it. but no one ever said that you have to give up and stay in this shit. i guess young people do it because they see their friends do it and are ashamed to stand up and say "no, i don't want to be like that".
remember Tre from 'Boyz N the hood'? and his friend Doughboy? Doughboy didn't know where to stop and turn his life 180. it got him killed in the end.

It's just a blatent excuse to cover a peroson's shortcomings in life.

99% of these people probably see an example of something negative happening to someone similar to them and use that as an excuse.

For Example: The violent actions LA police has now not only influenced the Police - Black community relationship in the Us it spreads to the UK coz people feel they're in a similar situation and can relate to but forgetting what it was like in the slave ships and in the 60s

And "from the Hood" is nothing to compared to ghettos in Third World Countries

@ the reply to how the hood actually is really tough...

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUULSHIT.

That whole act of pitty-begging is dispicable... and the "you've never been there" attitude is a lame attempt at overestimating it. There are things that so much worse then the hood, like economic crisises and astronomic inflation... crime rates that american "hoods" are yet to see. places were cops actually commit crimes.. not just accused of being biased to the poor black fellas.. in those places, people dont even wine as much as people in the "hood" that are too god damn stupid to finish school, ive never heard anybody from St.Petersburg ask for the "hood pity" and bragging how they survived by being ganster, even they survived the 90's (not to mention that the crime rate was of something that Detroit hoods would shit they sean john suites). "the hood" Is a bourgeois's ghetto were people live worse then most the city and think its impossible to make it, because everybody in the area thinks the same and gives a shit for attempt to go to college or get a job.

"ohh theres no jobs"...

well uhm.... if every god damn motherfucking body in the "hood" is gonna play gangster and hope on becoming a rapper... because he can rhyme "bat" with "gat" .... there is NEVER gonna be jobs... Hood people just are lazy and are NOT NEEDED... by Job providers.. why the fuck would they want a bunch of wi.ggers stereotypeembracing negros as workers worth paying decent money too.
