That’s why it's ridiculous; even in Japan if you bow for someone, the other person is supposed to bow back. And considering this isn't Japan, it's just wrong. There is no such a thing as a 'bow-out-of-respect' thing going in the Arabic culture, and if you bow for someone it’s considered submission.

Overall it isn't a tradegy; however, it was a stupid thing to do. That way he gave the wrong impression to the rest of the world. By bowing down to a person who has disgraced your nation, you kinda give away an impression of weakness. Even if Obama ment it out of respect, a handshake should have been more then enough.

It just so happens that Saudi Arabia doesn't fall under the same rules that apply in japan. Also, the Dictator didn't even put his hand out to shake, Obama simply bowed.

His bow was meant to be respectful, and it should only be taken in that context. The Middle Eastern world is in chaos so why shouldn't he try to show some respect so that they could work on restoring order.

Wellll according to our constitution, congress has the most power (aka the people) and the president barely has any., however due to a terribad congress for way to many years, presidents have been abusing and taking more power little by little.

about the topic, i see where both sides are coming from, i think obama is an idiot to begin with, but him bowing, i just see it as he is a politician and is just faking the bow to get in the good gracious with the Saudi Arabian dude. Bowing may be interpreted differently there, but here in the states no one bows to their superior.
