I'm sick of hearing people think video games cause violence

I really hate it when they discourage us to play SICK games like those bloody types. I mean, I had to be 18 to buy God of War and resident evil. It sucks totally. Everything in this world is rated, so how's a kid gonna enjoy shit?

These studies are merely to psycho adults, i think. They don't want kids to be stealing shits like in the games. But we know there are other ways.

I agree with video games like GTA don't cause kids to become violent, but what some people are now saying to twist some ideas around is "they don't cause violence but they do encourage it." All in all people will keep debating this topic and no one will ever come out satisfied with the answers from the opposing view.

This is what I meant: I hate war and violence, but years of watching it in films, movies, and video games has programmed me to enjoy watching it. I can't help it. It's just entertaining for me to watch. Same with everyone else I've met, whether they believe violence is a good solution or not. I don't know anybody who doesn't love to watch explosions and shit like that. Because they've been programmed to enjoy it.

Also, why do you play Call of Duty? You said guns aren't cool. You must think shooting people in the face isn't cool either. Face it, you're programmed to love that kind of stuff. Just because you don't want to do it in real life doesn't mean you don't enjoy the thrill of it in a video game.

You're probably not going to get the point I'm trying to convey. And that's ok, I was never good at explaining things. Just try to keep it a friendly debate and not call me "stupid." Do you do that to everybody that disagrees with you?

I do get what you're saying.

However, I completely disagree how you think it even has somewhat of an influence.

When i was younger, me and my brother used to fight all the time, physically even. Then one day we got a wrestling game for our game console. And then as usual, we fought each other again for some reason. So then the game was taken away from us.

The idea that games influence/cause people to be violent is merely an idea.

I had a new thought.

Everything that a person is around can change the way they act and stuff, until around age 16 or so. Like several people you hang around a lot can develop into your personality. So I guess it's a POSSIBILITY that video games can do something, but it does not make people violent or lead to drugs, unless they are what DrRapid just said, mentally fucked up. the anger and hatred and shit is fucking and corrupting their minds, and they need to find a way to deal with it, or get some hatred out. and then if they go to jail for it.........

Maybe not to you but I'm sure there are kids out there who are influenced by the games they play and the movies they watch.

That's not to say that I hate violent games, I love them but I can see were they could have a negative impact.

funny this topics up cuz i was just talkin about how playin video games keeps me from wanting to kill someone. good way to get the aggresion out, like playing GTA. being able to go around killing people in the game keeps me from pullin it off in real life
