yeah i'm not saying not allowed to have children ever, this is mainly just to stop teen/young pregnancies unless the before mentioned abilities to raise the child are established.

And there is no law in the US about age you can have sex, just age you can have sex with a "legal" adult, which means otherwise it's considered rape, in my state it's 14 (still seems fucking young to me)

Yeah, actually it might be 15, all I know is when I was a freshman in hs I played with all seniors, and this one kid was dating a 14 year old, and this kids sister was in my class, and I remember her saying if her brother pissed her off he was gunna tell his mom he was having sex with a 14 year old. So I'm not sure exactly, cause I think she said because it was considered rape whether she willingly had sex or not, because he was 18

^ usually, (from what i remember from law class) whether they consented to it or not..if one half is 18+ and the other is still a minor, whether it was consensual or not they still get in trouble for it, because it's against the law. obviously that's not the case here if the legal age is 14, but if it's 15 then yeah he's fine.

Yeah, I think it'd make sense. I know it might sound harsh "license to have kids", but some people really should NOT be allowed to have them. Here in Poland, it's a common thing in rural areas that people have even 12-15 kids.. And they can't 'afford' them; they often are shown in the TV - bunch of kids, aged from 6 months to 20 years old and their parents cry and complain about not having enough money to feed them, let alone send them all to school.

For God's sake, why make the life of the kids so miserable? They obviously don't believe in contraception (thank you very much, catholic church) and don't use it, because priests say it's a sin (no comment on this one), so there we are - a family of 17 members, 2 dogs, 5 cats, 5 cows and bunch of chickens and obviously - no money.

My point is, either the woman should get a tubal ligation - her ovaries tied, or her husband should get his genital tracks tied, so they couldn't produce more babies and bring them into a world that is going to kick their ass on every step they make and the better (normal) life is going to be far beyond their reach.

I'm not against having a lot of babies - no way, but I'm against treating them like a side effect of sex. Come on, 15 kids and their parents struggling every day because they can't even give them a proper breakfast let alone a hot meal for supper? Now that's stupid. And cruel. And should not happen in XXI century.

People who can afford it, who can provide their family a decent life - why not? They could have babies or adopt them and I see no problem in that. But pointless baby-making is just wrong. My 2 cents.
