no i didnt get knocked up. i do raise a 4 year old but she is my niece but i didnt have a baby myself yet but do want one. im waiting for the right man to come around instead of the idiots i been dating lol.

However, how do you justify that life starts at conception? I'm not really in support of late-term abortion, but I don't understand how people can consider a fertilized egg as a being having the same rights as a person.

well thats what has been proved. i dont know for sure. but i just could never abort my baby weather i got pregnant now or when i was married.

No that has not been proven at all. That's a position supported by ideologues, not science. A fertilized egg has no mind, no organs, no sentience at all. Granted, it's alive in the same sense that germs and bacteria are alive, but you have no problem putting on hand sanitizer to kill them, do you?

A fertilized egg is nothing like a baby, nor does it feel pain. It's only an egg with sperm inside of it. Therefore, I don't see the argument for it at all.

Now, if one were to argue that life starts when the fetus develops on down the line a little ways, I could understand that. But I don't see how people can say that an egg with sperm inside of it is a living being with rights.

birth control pill is made to prevent pregnancy so i don't see anything wrong with that. just like condoms. but as well as there suppose to work they don't work all the time. so u still got to be careful and your always taken a chance.

Have you heard of BodyWorks, where you see real human cadaver exhibits? I went and saw the damndest thing. They were actual aborted fetuses, labelled from earliest to latest. And in the display labelled "3 weeks" or so, I could see a cute little miniature human. It had little fingers and toes and everything.
I litterally had to hold back my tears to know that this beautiful life never had a chance to happen.

I think everyone needs to see that up close before making their final judgement.

However, the birth control pill also essentially "aborts" fertilized eggs. Here's how it works:

The pill is meant to keep the egg from coming down the fallopian tubes in order to prevent fertilization. However, if the egg DOES come down (and sometimes it does) it will get fertilized.

If the egg gets fertilized, phase two of the birth control pill kicks in, in order to keep the fertilized egg from binding to the uterine wall. However, sometimes it will anyway.

And this is where phase three of the birth control pill comes into play. The pill will eventually initiate the periodic cycle, and the fertilized egg will exit the body along with the blood whenever that time of the month comes around.

And this happens more often than one might think. So, from your standpoint, taking the pill kills a "baby" since life begins at conception. See what I'm saying? So by taking the birth control pill, you're preventing pregnancy, but not always preventing fertilization.

So, once again, from the standpoint you've laid out here:

Birth Control Pill = Murder.

That's not directed at you personally, because plenty of other people feel the same way, but I think it's important to really face these questions when you decide to believe something based on personal "feelings" and not solid facts.

Then perhaps you should reconsider your statement that the pill is fine and dandy, considering the fact that it effectively kills fertilized eggs. Which, by your logic, are alive.

I'm just saying this because if you're going to believe that life starts at conception, that's fine, but the pill is murder in many cases by that logic.

I honestly don't care what anyone thinks, it's not my issue. However, this is in "Serious Debate", and the positions should be stated clearly and concisely, without contradiction.

I think there is a thread like this that I posted in before, but I'll restate my opinion.
I personally would never abort, no matter what the circumstances are. Yeah it might be the same as 'bacteria/germs' or whatever, but it has potential to grow into a human being. I read somewhere that most people abort during the first 14-15 weeks in pregnancy. The child's heart forms in the 5th week. So in this case, when a woman makes the choice to abort, I feel as if it is murder.
