Actually, my argument is that incestuous couples exist and have sex whether or not they can marry. As I said to Class, marriage does not increase the chance of pregnancy nor the risk of birth defects. Like homosexuals, incestuous couples exist and outlawing their marriage doesn't stop them from being together or having children, it simply restricts their rights.

In what human history is 13 too young? The biological clock says women are ready by what? 9-12 years old? Old generations, women would be married by the time she was 13. This too young thing is just as much a society standard as incest is.

A 13 year old simply isn't developed enough intellectually (albeit they are physically ready to bare children). No 13 year old I have ever dealt with can fully understand the concept for love, not can they fully understand the circumstances they are in or the consequences of their actions. They can be easily manipulated. Have you read or watched Lolita? That is a good example of what I mean.

So there is a huge difference between a 35 year old male statutory raping a 13 year old, and two fully developed 35 year old siblings having consensual intercourse.

There is no guarantee that the baby will have any kind of defect. If you and your sidter have healthy genes, so will your baby. The risk is that relatives share some d their genetic make up. So, if a faulty gene is passed onto two children from their parents, then the risk of the two children having a disabled baby is greatly increased. But, only if there are already defective genes present.
