In my experince with Ganja or pot or grass or whatever you wanna call it. I never once was addicted. To this day (and i have smoked prolly 100 times in my life) I have never "needed" weed. It's like a candy bar or ice cream. You get it because you enjoy how it makes you feel. And after you eat that delightful treat do you feel addicted? Nope, or atleast I don't..

Now what I will say is bad is spending your last 10 bucks on a dime when you dont have no gas to go to work in the morning to put clothes on your familes backs or food on their table. This is when it's bad.. But same thing goes to cigs and beer.. Hell for that matter any other WANT and not NEED...

Word to Mutha
she takes me on a journey, to a place called hell,
she showed where she stays, she show me where she dwells,
theres an errie saddness, commin from the room,
its as if its a funeral, but were all doomed,
death all around, but i feel more comfort,
blood rained skies, you could say im covered,
the feelin from her, is like no other
dont wanna say it, but the demon i love her

Without reading any posts in this thread, including the Creators...

From a physical / bodily health standpoint, weed is no worse for you than tobacco or alcohol. There are three measures of the physical harm a substance can do to you:

1. Addiction potential. Weed has very little. Now realize this isn't a 'psychological' (aka mental, or 'bullshit') addiction, I mean an actual physical dependence (think chemistry). Both tobacco and alcohol pose a much greater risk.

2. Overdose potential. Similar to tobacco, virtually zero. Meanwhile, alcohol has a potential (alcohol poisoning).

3. Incapacitating effects. While clearly weed has a stronger affect than tobacco, one can argue it is significantly less incapacitating than alcohol (particularly large amounts of alcohol).

Based on these three criteria, weed is not physically harmful. Psychologically weed is much more potent, but this is difficult to quantify. And if you want to deem a drug harmful based on its psychological effects, it is very difficult to villify weed while prescribing anti-depressants.

Honestly, based on the legality of alcohol and tobacco weed should be legal. One could even take the extreme stance and say we have a constitutional right to do to ourselves what we want to, and the government has no right stepping in unless our expression of our freedoms poses a risk to others freedoms (infringement).

The other end can argue the transitive effects of marijuana use do harm others by various secondary processes. Also, the comparison to alcohol can be nixed because alcohol was grandfathered into our country as a legal substance. The government literally tired to prohibit its use... what a disaster.

I am about to graduate college (two degrees!) and I have had years when I smoked a lot, years when I smoked a bit, and years when I smoked little to none. Weed is fun in moderation, and I wouldn't necessarily tell anyone not to smoke; HOWEVER, discretion is the better part of valor. Save the pot for the weekends - theres a lot more in this world than weed. But what do I care, do what you want!
