memyselforwho wrote:no problem, school uniforms may help in many more ways than they harm, and im not talking about them being trechurosly ugly and horridly horribly nasty looking, i mean that kids should be able to express themselves with not using the words that the school doesnt alow us to.

example, goths mostly wear black,
then theirs the whole hip hop cloths
and so on, we have no recess in our school, thus we cant talk, so you cant share many interests by cloths, but you can basicly tell on a standerd issue tell who likes what, whether your prep hip hop or just slugiesh

i wear black all the time.... and im really pale...... does that make me goth?

at our school we HAVE to wear a uniform,it looks kinda stupid but i gotta agree with sarah in the fact that it doesn't discriminate any students cos if we're all wearing the same thing nobody judges you by what u're wearing especially if someone doesn't afford expensive clothes.
BUT i hate the strict system that is enforced on us,hello people it's not like we're living in the 18th century or whatever and if they really must force us to wear uniforms then they should at least give us one free day where we get to wear whatever we want :smoking:

Uniforms should be inforced .

  • Uniforms make everyone equal.
Yes, they do, coz there are people who are rich and who arent, some cant afford "cool" clothes and will be mocked in school
  • Fighting stupid trends.
Im tired of seing these emo idots and people who are trying to look like something they are not. Any respected school should be able to control and eliminate these trends in they own school, trends are for idiots that dont have their own sense of style.
  • Uniforms show wat you really are.
Im sorry to say this, but its true, anyone who manages to keep his uniform clean and looks sharp in it, is an evidently well organised person. lazy mo' fo' can be spotted with one glance, some people are just too afraid to show their real self. This is how character is built.
  • Any school that ur parents are willing to pay thousands of dollars for will always have school uniforms,
coz uniforms are for smart people who go to school to learn, not to socialise. Ull have ur time to show of ur clothes in colledge, its a prevelage and a reward for people that try hard.

Ofcourse people dont like it, its the 21st century , people dont like to be neet, its just so uncool to have a neet haircut and have no gel on ur hair.
Its not suppose to be extra comfortable, its supposed to be both comfortable and neet.

"But that tie is awefull and it strangles me! :(". TOUGH!.

one might argue with me that clothes define who u are, in reality they dont, clothes and makeup cover who u really are, u show ur character organising wat u have not with wat u can buy or cover with.

edit: Ive finished a school were i use to wear uniform, and u know wat. I was like some of u guys at some point, we use to mumble under our nose about how we hated the uniforms. But them wen i finished school i realised that i actually learnt something from it.

Hard to say, I think it all depends on the uniform lol. Some of them look really gay.. But as you said, kids don't get picked up and so on.. I used to have to wear school uniform on Mondays ( :confusion: ) - white shirts and school ties - it looked a bit shitty, cause none of us really liked it and everyone tried to not look as smart as our principal wanted us to look.. I don't mind wearing uniform, tho I prefer my own clothes.. Now I wouldn't be pleased if they ask us to wear uniforms, maybe because it's now a bit too late for 17-yrs-old students to start wearing uniforms, what they did not have to do during past 10 yrs.

I guess it'd look completely different if every school, starting from primary school, was supposed to provide it's students uniforms, so they could get used to it..

Uniforms dont stop kids from being picked on. If they can't pick on clothes they'll just move on to something else.
