Rap getting too dangerous

Postby Hocky27 » Apr 12th, '06, 07:48

I think that people need to step back from the mic and have a look at what beefs in rap is doing to people, lets take for example our late friend Proof. He had soo much ahead of him, yet he was gunned down.

rap is getting too much about beefs and all...it's like talent is not important anymore...rappers get attention if they have a beef , they just don't realize how pointless it is :( i like 50 cents songs en i watch his interviews but sometimes he's talking shit  he's like i have the time and energy to destroy the careers of ja rule and fat joe...my question is WHY?? why would you destroy their careers, i think 50 is one of the rappers that is mostly famous cuz of his beefs and that's why i don't like him anymore

Anyways, yeah I think beef is starting to get a lil too much nowadays. It really should stop before another tradgity like Pac and Biggie's death happens :(

I dont know if it was from a beef, however his death did make me think about the dangers of having beefs.

There's a certain mystique when I speak, that you notice that it's sorta unique,
cos you know it's me, my poetry's deep, and I'm still matic the way I flow to this beat, you can't sit still, it's like tryin to smoke crack and go to sleep, I'm strapped

PROOF RIP..

i think beefs are one of the things that makes rap great. proof getting shot wasn't a result of that. it was just a random act of stupidity.

50 cent has good songs, but most of them are shit.....i mean his most popular songs are ALL in the club with naked girls and all.....rap is not just gettin too dangerous it's also gettin cheap....candy shop, a little bit etc. i mean they are good songs to listen but not really hip hop....and 50 cent is gettin in so many beefs with everyone...and he got em also in his beef with ja rule....sometimes i think that hip hop is not about lyrics and talent anymore :( i want nas to make more songs and em to make another album like the marshall mathers LP and i'm also waiting for detox...something that is real rap ......and ja rule is also like 50 cent with his songs...why are they in a beef those two should work together

I think it's gone too far. It's music, which is supposed to be entertainment and fun. But now it's turning into a war between people. It's too serious, all the beefs and everything..

Rap battles? Ok, but lyrics only.. Beefs? Come on people, it's cool on the beginning, spitting great and ironic verses, but you cannot kill someone just because of such shit!! :confusion:

no.

Well relative to what? Rap since the 80s? It has. But the status quo has been the same since gangster rap blew up. Most rappers deaths are totally un related to hip hop. It's a violence issue, NOT a hip hop issue.

it is getting way too dangerous! why can't it be the way it used to be with just lyrics, why do guns and crap like that gotta com into the picture? It helps noone so what is the point. After the death a Pac and Biggie people should have realized how far thing can really go.
Bring back just lyrics and not beefs, they only cause trouble in the end. people should be famous for their skill on the mic, not a beef with someone.

it aint beef thats destroying rap.

Its rapper like jermaine deprei and pall wall who make success and fame from very little rap talent and beats aimed at 15+ girls.

If u listen to the lyrical content of half of whats in the chart it is practically childish and very basic.

The underground rap and very few artist like (proof etc) that keep the game above sea level.
