Legal in most, I think it should be legal without question in the first trimester.

After the end of the first trimester.

Does anyone here believe that life starts at conception?

If so, what are your views on the birth control pill vs abortion?

I have children, but that by no means says that I am pro-life or anti-life..

I think however, it is a very personal decision and all options must be offered in information she is given.

People think, having children is easy - and sure - it is. But, it takes its toll when a person has not decided that the child WILL come first, above all. Instead they balk, they become selfish and they lash out at the child, or neglect them, abuse them and worse - kill them.

It's all or nothing. The pay off - is amazing, but at the same time -- there needs to be more information exchange about planned parenthood as well as hey - what to do if it's not planned (for both parties involved).

Legal in all circumstances. Either that or quit masturbating if you're so anti-abortion.

Legal in any circumstance, it's a personal choice.

Many people believe so.
And birth control pills are okay, while abortion is wrong.
Birth control pills mean preventing conception, which means preventing pregnancy so it's all cool and okay.
Abortion on the other hand is like killing another life, which is wrong because you're not the one who should decide who lives or dies.

I don't know, it's just my opinion.

Interesting.

See, the reason I asked is because the birth control pill doesn't actually prevent the fertilization of the egg every time. In fact, the birth control pill has three stages of action.

Stage 1 is to prevent the egg from being fertilized at all. Still, it does happen sometimes, so we move on to stage 2. Stage 2 is to prevent the egg from attaching to the uterine wall. Still, sometimes this happens anyway, and that's when we get to the final stage. Stage 3 is when the birth control pill induces the woman's monthly cycle, and the lining of the uterus--along with the attached embryo--are expelled from the body.

So, my point is that anything after the first stage would technically be considered an abortion of sorts if one believes that life begins at conception. Personally, I'm not of the belief that life begins when the sperm hits the egg, but I'm not debating that point, because it's more of a spiritual matter for most people.

I'm just saying, to believe that life begins at conception makes it almost impossible to support the birth control pill. Many people don't actually know the complete process, so they may be supporting something they would otherwise be against if the knew the full story.

I agree, it can be a murky subject. :y:

You don't get to decide who lives or dies, it's wrong to abort a baby. You could register at an adoption agency, that's the right thing to do.

.

It's not. To me, there's no difference between sperm and embryo. And yes, if girls are anti-abortion I expect them to not be hypocritical and stop having sex. Other than that:

"Abortion is defined as the termination of pregnancy by the removal or expulsion from the uterus of a fetus or embryo prior to viability."

Sperm and (early) embryo belong to the "prior to viability" period. Fetal viability is the ability of a fetus to survive outside the uterus. If you think that abortion after conception but prior to viability is killing, than so is wasted sperm. The embryo at first isn't really a human being with feelings.

I'm 100% on pro choice, but I sort of feel that if a young girl has reckless unprotected sex and get pregnant, she should pay for her consequences; so I chose the last option.

Or pro-life groups should start advocating protection more. :coffee:

Maybe she should, but the kid shouldn't.
