this ^ except I'm a democrat, won't be voting cause they both suck (i voted obama 4 years ago) and politics is so fucked up its ridiculous.

I actually wasn't going to vote at all either until Mitt Romney started going on about how he was going to fight against abortion and birth control and things like that and that's when he crossed the line so I'm not really voting for Obama but voting against Romney.

which is funny how people do that, but i know part of my obama vote 4 years ago was against the republican party because of bush. but yeah, romney is a sleeze and if i would vote i'd vote obama only cause romney is a stuck up prick if you ask me

This reminds me, I should register. I turn 18 just a few days before voting day.

I remember my politics professor telling our class a few years ago that you have to have turned 18, IIRC, six weeks before the election day. :-k I would look into that.

independent. I think its ridiculous that some Americans will only vote for a politician based on what party they are affiliated with (not saying everyone's like that but generally democrats vote for democrats/vice versa) thats being extremely narrow minded considering the person you vote for will be making huge decisions that will impact you're life. I prefer to take an open minded approach to these types of decisions and way the pro's and cons of both candidates

I don't think you understand that if a candidate is on "their" platform, they'll more than likely have the same issues and ideals of the same-sided voter....

this is true but not always the case for example:

I do understand that people align themselves with the party that is most reflective of their own personal beliefs/views but at the same time i personally know A LOT of people who vote strictly for their preferable party and still would even if the candidates plans would openly make this country worse than it already is. Not all republicans would openly say something like the post above. They would just concentrate strictly on the positives of the candidate they favor and all of the negatives of the one they dislike... instead of the negatives/positives of both. It's not everyday you see a Republican pointing out obvious flaws that Romney has because they obv. want him to win

Yep, that's true. All I was saying is that if you're Democratic, your candidate will more than likely will appeal to your issues and whatnot. :y:

Not true, or at least not true anymore. The registration paperwork only says that you must be 18 by election day.

It's like a gay person voting for Obama because he's "supposedly" not against gay marriage while Romney is.A lot of Gay people will vote for him because obv. his views on that particular subject apply to them because gay people want to get married. But to base you're vote on agreeing with a candidate on one particular issue that you feel strongly about is beyond stupid because as I said a lot of people are too "narrow minded" to consider other issues such as medicare/other plans candidates have for the country. Thats whats fucked with this world. Too many people only care about whats better for them personally and not for the whole entire country in general.

Yep, I agree. :y: People need to view the whole scope of the candidate, not just what appeals to them.
