How do you feel about teens who commit suicide?

I was just reading up on this girl named Amanda Todd that committed suicide over bullying.

I'll be honest here...if you're a teenager and you commit suicide over bullying...then you're a coward. How hard is it to speak up and tell people to fuck off? Bullies will only pick on you if they know you're weak. If you're going to try your best to avoid others and not even bother to shut everyone up and tell them to stop bothering you, then tbh the blame is all on you.

What are you committing suicide for? It's bullying, it happens to nearly everyone, but you were just too scared and weak to tell everyone to stop bothering you. If that doesn't work, move to another state where people will accept you, I'm pretty sure it isn't hard.

This just bothered me a whole lot because people seem to be sympathizing for this girl who so willingly flashed/sent nude pictures to some people. Uh, hello? It's 2012! Who in this world can you trust today?

It really piss me off when a teen kills herself or himself, because he or she had problems in facebook, twitter, or whatever...come on turn off your pc and the problem is over. If you have problems in the school, go to another..........

I'm sure many teens that killed themselves over these things having everything in life in 10 years wouldn't even think about those problems. But they missed the opportunty to have a happy life.

Some people have real problems, some people are dying in hospitals, or don't have money to have a normal life....while others kill themselves over stupid things. I will never understand it.

It sucks. I don't want to get into any detail tbh but I know that having people that love you/that person around doesn't necessarily save you. The last thing you should ever do is blame it on the person though. It's human nature to seek out happiness in some way you are able. If the person knew a way they could be happy or go on living in peace...they would have. It fucking blows to even think about but you have to remember that humans inherently at least try to seek out the best path possible for whatever reason, and that no one just kills themselves on a whim. That person probably thought about it many times, even for years. Nobody just takes the "easy way out" and says fuck it the first time things go wrong. When people decide to do that, they just don't know what else to do. It's a real psychological issue that can't be fixed by just saying "suck it up". The happiest person in the world could be crumbled down to nothing with severe depression. Your brain doesn't even function properly. Even the smartest person can be completely convinced that there is nothing else they can do and that it is impossible to be happy. I would never promote it, but if someone you care about commits suicide, you have to know that for whatever reason they were convinced it was the best decision and didn't know what else to do. I can't stress enough how much you shouldn't hold it against that person. Ever.

Let me reword that then, it is human nature to seek the satisfaction of your desires. Why are you here? Because it pains you or because you are feeding some type of interest? Even if it isn't Eminem. You could be here because you prefer that type of interaction with people, because you like to piss people off anonymously, argue...etc. But the things you do, large or small, are calculated for some type of benefit. People who do otherwise (directing themselves toward discomfort/pain) are masochistic, which is due to a psychological disorder. Any time you make a logical decision, it is because you want something over another, or believe you will get something out of it.

So maybe "happiness" is too broad of a term. You seek to satisfy or fulfill desires. So if it comes to the point where someone is convinced that they truly desire death over any other conceivable option, they didn't just "choose" to do it as it looks like to others. They were just in a psychological state where that was their reality, death being "good".

When people are in a really dangerous situation where their lives could be in danger, do they stop and ask, "guy, do you want to die or live?" Because it's implied human nature to fight for survival. It's biology. It's how we all ended up here. When that instinct is flipped around by an imbalance in brain chemistry, it isn't that person's fault that they don't think they same. It's not just because they had a bad day and couldn't shake it off.

I have no goals or desires or plans - I simply am. Goals, desires, and plans are all illusions. People get caught up in some desire (like happiness or money or more weed ( ), or more self esteem, etc.) and in the process, they create expectations. These expectations may be false an so the individual is led to some form of a depression, the balance in their life is thrown off, shit goes down. I do not strive for any benefits other than the innate biological ones concerning survival. But that's just me. I'm sure what you stated rings true for a lot of other mothafuckas.

But why are you here? Is it because you want to be here? or is it to your discomfort to be here? You don't need to want to have a million dollars to have "desires". I'm talking about desire in its most simple form.

Your desire then...is to be independent in the way you describe, and to not be that which you don't identify with. It doesn't have to be a "plan". Your desire is to see past what you believe others are deceived by, and stick to your basic needs. Your desire is to engage this conversation because you feel that for whatever reason you want to post what you have to say. Even if your goal is to not have goals...that's still your "plan". To be who you are and keep living.

No offense man, but when I talk about human nature, I'm referring to the norm, or average psyche. Of course there are exceptions, which is fine. But the way you feel doesn't necessarily represent the psychological nature of mankind.

The point to take away from this is, even someone like yourself who doesn't identify with characteristics of the norm, acknowledges an inherent survival instinct. So when a person not only abandons survival defense, but actually turns on himself, it's a sign of a psychological abnormality. Or an extreme situation abnormality. Not weakness.

Edit: Tbh, this isn't really something I want to dig too deep into, take what you want from it, but I'd rather agree to disagree than dwell on the subject.
