Plus prostitution is one of the oldest job in the world. It has been here for like forever.

It started out as a pass-time (There was very less forms of entertainment available). Even though it was considered as a taboo, still it stayed in the society.

Now, it means quick money, fun, YOLO, seriously. It has reached to such a a level because of us, humans. Pathetic is our ever growing need for material sshit.

Food, clothing, shelter, protection from environmental factors, SEX has been the basic need of every human being since the very start. With life evolving at a pace which is hard to keep up, these needs have reached a newer threshold. It's such kind of need for wants that has made people set up big shops for satisfying those needs; same logic applies for prostitution.

You know about the rest of the needs, but sex, my friend just like others is a highly desired thing and if you don't get it, we don't move high up in the hierarchy of needs like safety, self-esteem, social needs and let alone self actualization. Prostitution is the potential market for these kind of people.

I just finished exams and broke up with my girlfriend so I am pretty much in the middle of a two week bender.

I find fault with the customer and realize these being prostituted - both men and women are only doing what they need to do, to survive.

I cannot judge them on this because mostly this is do or die situation. I feel for them because we know mostly they are so tightly woven in by those that control them. Focing them into drug use, dangling it like a carrot to keep them there or beating them when they get out of line.

To me, they are basically being used by anyone that can and will use them. They no longer have identities but are reduced to a body in the darkness for the purpose of physically pleasing another that pays for this time.

I think to do the last possible thing - TO survive and continue on - even when it means the loss of your integrity, pride and all of the good things you are - is a very harsh thing.. and I would wish this on no one.

On topic, the biggest argument against prostitution is the idea that virtually every prostitute was 'forced' into it. In terms of them being poor and needing money. Then they are stuck in a cycle. It's exploitation.

Prostitution should be legal--If for nothing more than principle. Who are we to tell anyone what they can and cannot do with their body? That's completely absurd. We're willing to terminate an unborn baby, yet getting paid to perform pleasure is illegal? What the fuck kind of sense is in that?

I can kind of understand why prostitution is illegal, because it leads to prostitution rings and pimps/hoes and all that stuff, which is obviously a bad and terrible thing. So by paying a prostitute you're putting your money into those rings and actually paying the pimp, and not the woman. Those are also usually associated with drugs too so then that's probably where your money goes to so you're funding something which is obviously illegal and should be. Plus, most of the time the women are doing it against their will because of the drugs.

However, I think if we got rid of those rings and it was a women acing on her own and she got to keep all the money then that should be legal and fine. The problem is that's pretty hard to do.
