Frankly, I can't see it happening anytime soon. The rap game is too...sheltered.

I disagree with some on here, I've always seen hip hop as a projection of the rapper's personality, what they stand for and what they think and I think in hip hop it DOES matter since hip hop is so different from other genres. Theres not much ambiguity in it generally and despite how the media likes to pretend homophobias gone it hasen't, the attitudes still there just as racism is, it's fading yeah but it's also FAR from gone, anyone who livesin the uk like me I think would tell you that. What I do find SURPRISING is that we haven't had a big gay rapper yet since despite the image hip hop HAS what true hip hop has always been ABOUT is standing up to adversity, venting out what you feel and shaping the public conciseness... i'd personally welcome a gay rapper who was actually dope. creative and bringing something to the table, who could not just devide opinions or not be accepted by hip hop (imagine the hunger that would bring to said gay rapper) but devide opinions of the general publict too, thats my two cents
there are no actions just reactions

The word "gay" really doesn't really hold the same meaning it used to...

It's more just a generalized diss...Like asshole...

"You're so gay"...
"That shit is gay"...
"What a gay song"...
"This Party's gay"...

Y'see how it's gotten more and more away from meaning homosexual...

People throw the term about so loosely and it really has lost all meaning...

If you say "You're a queer fag", that's homophobic...If you say "dude, that haircut's gay", it's just as good as saying "oh my, what a frightfully outrageous and totally horrendous hair style you're sporting on this fine Spring Afternoon"...

The rap community's not as homophobic as you'd think from the amount of times one of em says gay...

I don't think there'd be too much of a problem with it to be honest, as long as he kept it real and didn't play up to the fact he's gay or use it as some kinda commercial gimmick...
