seatbelt laws

Postby Just Silver » May 29th, '13, 16:09

I just recently got a ticket for not having a seatbelt as a passenger

It made me never want to get a license cars are all about money

The question being debated is ..
Do you think you should have a choice /it's your own risk

Or should we get tickets reminding us to protect ourselves

Enforce seatbelt laws tbh. Wouldn't I be liable for my friends deaths if I crash and they're passengers of mine? Thats like involuntary manslaughter or some shit like that. I tell my friends to buckle up every time cuz if I don't they never buckle up.

Enforce seatbelt laws.

Do you know that if your passenger doesn't have his seatbelt on while you crash your car, and he dies/gets handicapped you'll have to pay your whole life for it?

They're telling you that for a reason.

I hate the seatbelt. But, people should use them.
My friend would get hurt bad and maybe even died if he had seatbelt on when he crashed. So, it`s just a matter of luck.

Yeah, that's the best case scenario. However, you're responsible of the passengers and if you have an accident you will have to pay for him.

The responsibility part i feel is unethical as well again it's their own life if they took the risk

It shouldn't turn into a murder or a lawyer case

The driver insurance wouldn't cover him if he doesn't wear his seatbelt.

I know the law is the law but I'm asking why

Why would they care if someone dies

Their job is about making salary not caring or having feelings

How's a law like that get passed without thinking $

I think its kinda stupid, by law, to be required to wear seatbelts.. Only to a certain point though.

Some people, younger people mainly, think they are invincible and think they can't get hurt. Aren't necessarily fully aware of the consequences. So I understand trying to get people to wear them on that aspect.

Depends on which side you look at it, though. It should be my choice to wear it or not. But in the end, it's really not that hard to put it on either.

There should be no ticket involved a death by your own stupidity /bravery won't be saved by a ticket

It might to a few but many people won't change their ways

Seatbelts don't really bother me when I drive, or when I am the passenger.

Enforce seatbelt laws.

I think here in Norway the law is that the driver has to make sure that anyone under 15 wears the seatbelts, while those who are over 15 are responsible for themselves to wear the seatbelt. It's a law to wear it whenever you're in the car.
