Our meaning = USA.

Interesting read. Thought it might bring about debate.

It's absolutely APPALLING the amount of disrespect most americans show towards him (including some friends of mine and people I've talked to) I understand he may not be the best president, and yes he's made some really shit decisions, but he's still the fucking president for fucks sake. Dam ppl

You're so right Aone. It's amazing how quickly they forget how badmouthed Bush and how the media routinely made fun of him and found it funny when he got a shoe thrown at him. How can you laugh at somebody throwing a shoe at the president of your country regardless of your party affiliation. If that was Obama could you imagine the outrage ? Not saying that Obama has had it easy but Bush had it way worse.

Yeah, it's pretty fucking pathetic tbh.

Like...I don't care much for Canada's Prime Minister, but dissing him every chance I get literally does nothing to help.

Somehow Harper manages to be irrelevant even within Canada though.

Aone10 wrote:Tbh, this article is full of shit. I agree with the notion that there should be a level of respect for your president, but it doesn't mean you have to like him, no less agree with their policies. It's our right as Americans to be vocal when we disagree with the head of state. Things like painting him as Hitler, drawing him with bloody teeth, etc. are obviously exaggerated and crossing the line, but this article is acting like he's the first president to receive such a harsh response.

"Suddenly President Barack Obama, with the potential to become an exceptional president has become the glaring exception to that unwritten, patriotic rule."

What about the man in my avatar?

He's been called a terrorist, a fascist, a racist, an idiot, etc.

Difference between Obama and Bush is that one is Democrat and one is Republican, liberal media cry like bitches when slander is thrown their way.

Obama has seen a lot of disrespect thrown his way, but it doesn't compare to Bush.

I'd argue Bush deserved a lot more of the criticism that was thrown his way than Obama does. I also think a lot of the disrespect refers to members of congress, not just the general public.
