I'm assuming you mean in the United States? I'd guess there are numerous reasons involved. The U.S. is puritanical country (I mean the country was basically founded by Puritans) and many of their beliefs/ideas are still prevalent to this day. I mean it's only in America where people are more comfortable with violence in films/games compared with sex/nudity.

Apart from that, a lot of feminists are against prostitution since it objectifies women. Lastly, prostitution could lead to the selling of sex slaves and...that's always bad.

That said prostitution isn't completely illegal. It's legal in Nevada. I also think it's not actually the Constitution that makes prostitution illegal, but it's up to each individual state to decide.

those are good possibilities. and i was pretty sure it depended on the state too. i still think it shouldn't be illegal though. but my opinion doesn't matter, just the opinions of the people who make it illegal.

why shouldn't it be sold? if you're good at somethin why not get paid for it? like a trade skill or somethin. that's not saying i would condone paying somebody to kill someone cuz they were good at it. that's different. you're ending that person's like without their consent. however... prostitutes choose to get paid for sex (except in the case of pimps n their hoes, in which case i would agree it's wrong). likewise their customers choose to pay for it. i don't see the moral dilemma.
