I got the idea from Mr Cookie's topic in backstage about why women shouldn't drive. I was about to make a reply to Maybe in that thread, then I thought, might as well start a thread in Serious Debate, and I never remember having this debate whilst i've been here [I may be mistaken though].
So, are women better drivers?
Well, these statistics show this:
- Male drivers commit 88 per cent of all driving offences (source: Government)
- Male drivers are involved in 97 per cent of dangerous driving cases (source: Government)
- Of all road accidents, fewer than 35 per cent were caused by women.
Don't ask me what website I got it from, I looked few a lot and I don't remember now. All I know is that is for the UK. Maybe already stated the U.S. in the backstage topic, I think it was 65% of women [correct me if i'm wrong].
Point is, UK shows that male drivers have more accidents. However, I guess I gotta see both sides of the argument, & say that women drivers may have more minor accidents, but men have more dangerous ones, which shows that they must be the worst drivers, right? It's also a known fact that 16-21 year old boys have a lot of accidents.
So, what do you think? I know guys are gonna say women are the worst drivers, it's obvious, but at least have something to back up your statement. I don't know what girls are gonna say, I know some girls who say we're the worst drivers.
