yeah I get it often, I was told that it is one half of the brain registering the vision a split second before the other so it gives the effect of making you think you have seen it before! I dont actually know how true this is but the more thought about it, the more it has made sense.

Although one thing that kinda debunks that it that I have actually thought to myself I've seen this before and this happened next or he/she said this, and then they actually did!! I dont know how it actually works but its a good theory! :y:

Hmm yeah, I get it from time to time. However stupid it sounds, I like it lol

It might sound stupid, because often deja vu is connected with some neurological disorders, not neccessarily serious, but still it might be a sign of an upcoming epileptic attack - people with temporal lobe epilepsy often feel some kind of 'aura' which precedes the attack, although there's no strong or 100% proved connection between deja vu and neurological issues.

About registering the vision a split second before the other - for a long time it's been an explanation for the deja vu. Also, it was said that one eye may register the vision a little bit faster, but lately, there's been a research which showed that it can also occur to people with one eye only and also, when other senses are involved, for example hearing, so the theory kind of fails :(

It's really hard to research such a subjective feeling, so I guess it'll take years before we really know what deja vu really is.. At least I have years to live in the ignorance and enjoy the feeling before it turns out my brain's totally degenerated rofl :8)

I go through it ALL the time, but I don't know... sometimes it isn't as simple as one half of my brain registering something before the other half because occasionally, though not very often at all, I've been able to finish people's sentences. Sometimes people I know well, but 3 or 4 times it's been people I didn't know or didn't know well enough to finish a sentence for them. Weird shit.

I had kinda frequent deja vus in certain moment of last year... I thought it was strange, real plain weird.. it's like somthin 'rings' at your brian, you have sure you was in that palce, with that thought, talkin that phrase... I heard these things might happen with people who where abducted (you gotta believe in that idea of aliens to accept a theory like this).
I got 2 of them this year, I looked at the sky at night, thought about a song, and came the deja-vu.. I heard also your brians records situations and some situations that are related witha certain person or music, or etc might come automatically if you face the smae place again.
It's curious, and it's somthin' misterious. ;)

I'm absolutely sure that I've seen a house yesterday, that I lived in, at 1983. That was on my mind, when I first saw the house. The only problem is, that I was born in 1990... :confusion:

That.

I think that deja vu is a way of the brain trying to keep the body awake, think of it as a neurological twitch, if that makes any sense.

Same with the sentence thing.
I say it might be spiritual.

i don't.

edit

I believe that "deja vu" is a theory. you hear about deja vu and people's minds wander around with the theory of deja vu in their minds. then when they think they experience it with their minds wandering or something, it occurs to them more and more that they freak out and believe in it and thinks it happens to them all the time or something.

like, I remember a time when I thought about a certain person walking along and coming, and a few seconds later that person walked up. of course, I was bored at the time and my mind was wandering. I've thought about randomly people walking up before. It was a coincidence.
I'm that dude.

I want to talk shit, but i'll probably get banned for it from now on :sweating:

I don't know if this has been posted before :S
Anyways, I've heard this happens when you're tired so the visions from the outside travel to the receptors in your brain slower, so you get the feeling you've seen that particular scene before when actually you didn't.
