Was Hitler evil ?

I know he killed 6 million jews,communists, gays and homeless people and that he has gone down in history as evil. But was he that evil ?
In my opinion he was old and mentally ill.
And everyone who loves him or his evil deeds is as ill as Hitler.

Not really. He got plenty of luck and was a good speaker - he wasn't as clever as people seem to think. In fact, the only clever thing he did, was not sign anything to say he wanted the Holocaust to happen, even though it was obvious he did. It was also the organistion of the Nazi's that made so popular within Germany and Hitler Youth etc weren't all direclty Hitler's ideas.

And yes, Hitler was evil. He had an ouright hatred towards Jews from day one, that was pretty damn obvious. Whether the Holocaust was the plan from day one is debatable - many claim the plan only started around 1937/8 before the war, other believe it was Hitler's plan all along to massacre the Jews and from the research I've done, I tend to agree with the second option.

He was quite clever, but not in the way people think. I mean, he tried a fuckin' revolution when the Nazi's were still a tiny party and if he didnt know the judge at the trial he would have been put away for life and wouldnt have been able to write Mein Kampf etc and the rest, as they say, is history. Britain and France could have easily stopped him when he invaded Alsence Lorraine and Hitler himself said he wouldn't have been have been alble to do anything about it if they hadnt followed the policy of appeasement.

And it was the party as a whole. Hitler had his ideas but the organistion of the whole thing, and the fact the country was manipulated was down to Joseph Goebbels and hisNazi propaganda.

An example is the battle of Dunkirk when the Germans moved through the Ardennes region, which was considered as impenetrable, and got behind the French troops who were at the Maginot Line, not expecting an attack from behind.
