Man wrongly accused of murder recieves 36 million

Postby Yah-hah » Jul 15th, '10, 00:31

Is this right or wrong. Here is the link for the story. http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread593500/pg1
Bacisally This fellow went to prison at the age of 19, 12 years ago, and it now comes to light, via DNA evidence that he was not guilty.

He is already getting $500,000, a year for the next 10 years, so the $36 million would be in addition to that.

HOLY SHIT

i dont believe he deserves that much compensation. i dont think he would of made it, while he was working out of jail, so why does he deserve it now?

Yeah but the dude lost like 12 years of his life. Going to have a huge shock when he sees how much the world changed in 12 years and some white dude rapping.

He's still young, so he can enjoy the money well. He deserves it having to be punished for nothing.

Anyways, this guy totally deserves it. If it were me though, I'd probably end up back in jail, but this time FOR committing the murder...on the bastards who sent me there wrongly the first time. :shifty:

''Life'' centers on Detective Charlie Crews, who at the start of the first season (set in 2007) is released from Pelican Bay State Prison after serving twelve yearsof a life sentence. In 1995, he was wrongfully convicted of the triple murder of his friend and business partner, Tom Seyboldt, and all but one of the partner's immediate family.

Thanks to the efforts of his lawyer Constance Griffiths, DNA evidence exonerates him of the murders. Having lost his job, his wife, his friends, nearly all contact with the outside world and even his grip on reality for a time while in jail, he emerges enlightened by the philosophy of Zen, a fixation with fresh fruit (which he acquired while in prison, as it is nonexistent on the inside), and an obsession with solving the murder that nearly cost him his life and exposing the conspiracy that framed him for it.

After successfully suing the city of Los Angeles and the LAPD, he is reinstated to the police department and receives a substantial monetary settlement of $50 million.

He lost the best years form his life (19-31) because a couple of idiots had to put someone in jail for one murder.
He definitely deserves the money. At least he can life the rest of his life, the way HE likes.
