You know prefer growls over singing, but this isn't too bad.
I never got into Co and Cam.

With coheed its all about the song you listen to....

Some songs I know people would be like, wtf are you listening to? Other songs are fuckin baddass.

Here are some other links, if you respect good guitar you'll enjoy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvcKBPmTdQc - song is decent but start listening at 2:50 and listen to that lead...I love how he goes offtune with it, then at 3:03 he does something with that string I havent heard before....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyGub7L9A70 - This one kicks in at 1:20 and rips, then he kills it at 4:35

Aaand this one at 5:30 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjERdCJ_hto

and one of my favs , fast paced - quality sucks on these though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kKCpFvRrk30

Once you get past his voice and just listen to the music its fuckin amazing

LISTEN TO IT

it took me forever to find these, and sadly, I value our opinion

At 3:03 in The Broken, that sounded like a basic muted string tremelo to me. That was a nice lead.
I listened to all of them, and yes, I've come to the conclusion that they are talented and make good music.
It's not really my taste, but I know ability and dedication when I see it.

I see you like guitar solos. Me too, I love them.
If you like creative, melodic, talented soloing, you should appreciate these as much as I do.

I would consider Dimebag Darrell (RIP) from Pantera to be the greatest guitar player to ever live.
He was murdered by gunshot on stage 6 years ago, doing what he loved.

Listen to the beautiful, tasteful solo section at 3:45
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=td-v6vG2Xhs

Listen to how he gets creative with a southern country metal style at 2:38
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfX0e6TtnvM

I can't begin to describe how brilliant this solo is at 3:00
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agX6AiuYmWE

His structure is godly, check 3:00-4:40
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kZZiPhKM ... re=related

Just some stuff I know a fellow guitar player will appreciate.

Pantera was actually the first rock CD I ever purchased, cant remember which one but :y:

Them last 2 are amazing. How the fuck does somebody do that anyways? Its funny how much musical genius there is behind some of the more "brutal" types of music/bands that other musicians will probably never appreciate.

Pantera is more of the mainstream rock and I was never really into that, I mean, my local rock station plays some good shit but Im just a bit younger (early 20's) so the newer progressive punk screamo shit is up my alley...but yes, we both have similar tastes in music, even if the genres are different. :y:

although, listening to the shit you posted makes the shit I posted seem like childplay lol

That's a pretty kickass song. Those melodies were tight.
He's got a high voice, but it's not annoying like Geddy Lee's, from Rush.
I like the 2112 reference.

yeah, the concept of the band is this science fiction story about this kid and his life and his parents "Coheed and Cambria"....The song kinda touches base on everything leading up to a certain point, the parts in the song when it changes are different songs on the album....

I havent seen a band do something conceptually over 15 years and 5 albums like that before....
