A lot of people ask you to advertise their website, for like $30-40 a month.
Well what happens is...
If you have a lot of videos which have a lot of views, and a lot of subscribers or, a substantial amount to qualify - then you can apply to be a partner.
If you become a partner with Google, you can allow advertising on your videos, the advertising isn't made on a 1 on 1 basis, it's contextual / automatic. Like AdSense (ads you see on Google Search and on websites).
So if that happens, you get a cut of the advertising revenue from Google. Which is a very tiny amount per click or per impressions. Even if you have videos with gigantic views you make dollars, as in... singular dollars at best. Most people make pennies.
Even huge partners make very little from it. It's not a highly lucitive thing for partners and, you can't be a partner with copyright material, it needs to be original. When you see ads on videos which have been allowed to stay up, that's at the mercy of the copyright owners, and they're allowing it to stay up for the sake of ad revenue.
I am a partner with my card magic account.
