The tradition of football is to support your local team or the team where your family is from. It's been like that since the begining of football.

I appreciate you follow Chelsea and that's fine, but you dont have the same feeling I have for Newcastle or Killa has for Chelsea - I know that for a fact. I had no choice in supporting Newcatle, that's all I knew, I've watched them since before I can remember, they're in my blood (my god that sounded gay). You just 'chose' Chelsea.

Saying your a supporter of a team is a big thing.

I completely agree with this statement. I know it's completely different but its still kinda the same...I live in Ohio and have been a huge fan of Ohio State since I was born and the people who will say Flordia or USC or Texas are there favorite teams make me want to just beat the shit out of them lol

Amen, my neighborhood is even called Feyenoord. The hospital I was born in is right across the Feyenoord stadium. It is my club, my team, it's part of my heritage.

I don't know what you would call me then...
First time I saw ManU on the telly,I didn't even know what football was (I'm Croatian BTW).
Something just drew me to them, not the "ooh I like the color of their jerseys!!!" shit.
That was 10 years ago.
I can't really say I CHOSE ManU,more like it chose me(lolwut).

Yes, we're a boring ass country who just happens to be 2nd on the world ranking. Granted, some of our players play in the UK, Spain, Italy and Germany, but still. NL > UK.

Just saying.

Killa wrote:Lol, Mike...when you carry on how well you been doing (cause lets face it its good your 5th) An you carry it on surprising people and then qualify for the 4th spot for Champions League. Then Mike Ashley FINALLY gets the billionaire's that'll give him a tidy profit from your club in exchange for ownership. Then you buy the Pato's and the Messi's and etc etc. Then the next season when you go to watch them at the ground let me know how that feel's when you got your new set of supporters. KTNXBYI :p

Haha it's weird.

I was thinking about this the other day. Like, of course I'd love Newcastle to get back to the Champs League but theres the other side of it then I'm not sure whether it'd be worth it - not only the new set of fans but the idea that a win starts to mean less because you expect it.

If we started to win the league, beating Arsenal would be nice but if we didnt I'd be gutted. At the moment I'm over the fucking moon and if we had lost I'd have moved on pretty easily because I expected to lose.

I guess you gotta take the rough with the smooth - the amazing feeling when you win the Prem but the anger at new supporters and the fact people would start thinking your a glory hunter automatically, like people do with Chelsea fans.

Could realise my sarcasm.

Just sayin...

Beside that's where we go for a fair % of our players now anyhow :p

I hoped you would see my sarcasm in NL > UK. The Permier league is eons ahead of our first division, lol. All our players that are slightly better than the average player usually go to either the UK, Spain, Italy or Germany.

I agree with Mike. My favourite team, Feyenoord, is facing the same problems as Liverpool. Usually we're top 3/ top 5, but this season had a terrible start. A lot of ''supporters'' stopped supporting the team and turned ''neutral''. Bunch of bandwagon sissies. When your team needs you the most you decide to turn your back on them? Doesn't matter if my team loses, or hell, even if they manage to get to the degradation zone, and stay there, I'll still support them. It's my team, and struggle is part of it. You can't just get the glory without the hardships.
