Yes. If you try to do something and complete your goal, you succeed. Even if that something is purposely failing. This question looks more complex than it actually is.

You actually failed and succeeded, each towards a different goal.

If you were attempting Task A but wanted to fail it then failing task A would be Task B

So you succeeded in Task A but failed Task B

You failed, because trying to fail is in essence something you're trying to achieve, but if you've succeeded in the process, then you've failed at achieving your goal. Unless, of course, you want to take in account every term, then you would've succeeded. You have to turn fail and succeed in variables, A and B.

Meaning if you try to do A, and get B, you'll have B. So, you would have succeeded.

It really depends on your perspective.
