Because backstage allows you to make the most ridiculous topics thus resulting in more LOL's than the comedy crib whereas The Afterparty is sort of like a General section. Proving again fun > seriousness.

Yeah all of the threads posted in the Comedy Crib could be posted in backstage or The Afterparty. Same goes for College Crib, which has only 2 pages, 54 topics & one reply a week.
