i think it means (x+4)(x+4)(x+4). and that would make the answer...... X^3 + 12X^2 + 48X + 64

I have no idea if that is correct. And if I messed you up even more then im sorry,

yea it means (x+4)(x+4)(x+4) :sweating:

i understood how you got x^3 but how'd you get 12x^2, 48x, and 64

my brain doesn't feel like working today :sweating:

haha alright

well if you solve (x+4)(x+4) you get x^2+8x+16.
To find that I used FOIL

Next you have to multiple (x^2+8x+16) with (x+4). Take each term in the first part and multiple it with each term in the second part.
(x^2)(x) then (x^2)(4) then (8x)(x) then (8x)(4) etc.

After doing all of this work you get the total of x^3+4x^2+8x^2+32x+16x+64.

Once you add all like terms you get X^3 + 12X^2 + 48X + 64.

I can't really example without showing first hand, but I hope that worked. :sweating:
