My suggestion to the board is that in the Entertainment section we create like a "backstage" thread for Movie reviews, music reviews, and book reviews. Limiting access by only allowing certain people to create the topics, but allowing anyone to respond to the topics giving their own opinion like whether or not they agree or disagree with I guess you could call the reviewer a "critic". And the reason I am suggesting limiting access to certain members is because if you think about it, and just post reviews in the actual Entertainment section, then you'd have to single out the topics about reviews, and everything would be clustered. With another thread in Entertainment things could really become organized and actually inform people about the latest, greatest, or classics...ya know...And I've talked this over with a couple other members, and they brought up some questions that I'll go ahead and answer because you might be wondering the same thing...
One had the comment that they didn't like limiting access, and why would I want that...
See, I thought about that, but if you let everyone post, there could be two or three topics on the same movie...and a lot of people wouldn't post the right stuff, and it the idea behind the thread becomes lost as it becomes cluttered and all that. But see, I would like to be in charge of movies and books, I don't really know a variety and latest on music. But I go to the movies atleast once a week. But like I told a few others, I myself own over 800 dvds (Legally) and have about another 500 to 600 (Illegally like burnt). I doubt there's a movie I don't know about or haven't seen. But I've also thought about what the anyomous member said about wanting to make a thread on a movie. That's why I want like a dedicated crew of "critics" or "reviewers". People who r active or r willing to be active, and if they ain't, cut em'. But Like I'd post and sticky at the top of the thread is that if you want a movie or book or music album that's not listed started as a discussion topic, then to contact me or another reviewer, and we can get things rolling. I know that takes longer, but it keeps things from getting sloppy and messy, some of these threads remind me of sloppy joes because they get so clustered, and the point of the thread gets lost by meaning-less posts...No offense meant to anyone...
And like one person said, well it's the mods job to keep meaning-less posts from cluttering the threads...But my way of thinking is, they've go enough on their plate, why cause the problem if you can avoid it in the first place...
PLEASE, I would love to hear what ya'll think, and I know this is a long read, but it could be something new and interesting at TR...
